JPD tells sTEP results

police_dept_badgeJefferson police officers wrote 16 citations and issued 102 warnings during a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) Aug. 25-Sept. 7.

Officers reported the following (citations/warning): seat belt usage, 1/11; child restraint 0/4; speed, 2/14; stop sign/stop light violations, 1/1; driving without a license, 0/1; driving with a suspended or revoked license, 5/0; registration violations, 1/14; dark windows, 0/11; other traffic violations, 3/9; equipment violations, 1/27; and no proof of insurance, 1/10.

Officers investigated two accidents during the project.
